PARENTHOOD
Father and Son Companionship
There are many reasons for
seeing a motion picture, the chief
one of which is to be entertained.
But more and more, as the mo
vies advance toward maturity of
expression, they give us some
thing to think about. Especially
do they have things to say to
parents, and certainly they of

i Take “The Yearling,” for ex

splendid film we’ve wanted to
urge parents not to miss. it. Al
though the central story is about
a boy and his pet deer, it is one

getting into a fight to help a
friend. But even when they are

achieves almost biblical explicit
ness in the lessons it teaches.
Then there is Ma Baxter who,

A Definition
of Our Town
Somebody defined our town just
the other day as - ‘A place where
the people talk about you behind
your Pack, and come to wait on
you when you’re sick.”
I’ve erot to admit there’s some
thing tx it. A lot of our folks are
inclined to be pretty outspoken

about little things like a woman’s
hat or a man’s preference for a
glass of beer. 01 the coloi of Cy
