Recruiting Officer
Here on Tuesdays
It is announced today by
S/Sgt. Millard Q. Davis, substa
tion commander of the Rome
Army Recruiting Station that
hereafter the recruiting sergeant
will be here in Summerville from
9 a. m. to 3 p. m. each Tuesday
for the purpose of accepting ap
plicants for enlistment in the
new Regular Army.
Former members of the navy,
marines, coast guard as well as
former members of the army are

JOHN B. WHISNANT ELECTED
PRESIDENT OF ROTARY CLUB
At a recent meeting of the
Summerville-Trion Rotary Club,
‘ John B. Whisnant of Summer
ville, was elected president.

ident; J. L. Henderson, secre
tary, and Dan McWhorter, treas-
' urer.
Two new directors were also
■ elected. These are Pete Dunson
' of Summerville, and Lovebird
Harrell of Trion. These officers
will be installed July 1.
