Veterans Service Offices
Still File School Claims
j Although the new Veterans’
Educational Council, on July 1,
takes over the supervision of ed
ucational activities for Georgia’s
ex-servicemen, the state depart
ment of Veterans Service is still
a proper agency through which
former Gl’s may apply to de
termine their eligibility for such
benefits. This was stressed by C.
Arthur Cheatham, state veterans
service director, in his latest bul
letin.
“Do not be confused,” Cheat
ham told ex-servicemen, “all ini
tial contacts for assistance may
still be made through one of the
60 veterans service offices in
Georgia. These offices are offi
cial state agencies authorized to
prosecute claims for Georgia vet
erans before the Veterans Ad
ministration. They are still the
proper places to go for aid in
filing claims of any kind where
benefits are desired under the
GI Bill of Rights.”
