Announcement
of Reorganization
Central of Georgia
Railway Company
The Central of Georgia Railway Company has com
pleted its reorganization. To die shipping and
traveling public, this means even more efficient
transportation service.
The facilities of the Central have been strengthen
ed in all of the essentials of service through reha
bilitation of the property.
Personnel of the railway i? seasoned by experi
ence, and animated by a zeal to take part in the
progress and development of the territory.
The railway s modernization and improvement
program includes:
Installation of heavier rail
Extension of automatic block signals
Centralized traffic control of improved train
service
New freight, passenger and switch locomotives,
both diesel and steam
Addition of new freight cars
Streamliner passenger trains, Nancy Hanks II
and Man o’ War
Round trip coach, fares on the streamliners and
on other trains, cheaper than any other form
of travel
This program of modernization and improvement,
inaugurated in 1942, has progressed steadily and
will be continued through the years to come. Its
objective is to render a quality of service that will
meet the expanding needs of the Southeast, and
thereby merit the support and cooperation of the
public.

In ANY BUSINESS good service is made up of a lot of
little things: many small acts of courtesy, friendliness, and
willingness to do more than just what is required.
This constant striving to do a lot of little things for you
has made the Georgia Power Company and its employes
good citizens in vour town.
||B Providing you with dependable service is the first re-
sponsibility of all Georgia Power Company employes. But
8 many of them—like home economists, repairmen, light
ing engineers, power engineers, rural engineers and Better
Home Towns representatives—are at your beck and call—
||| ready to offer specific help whenever needed.
It’s important to you for the Georgia Power Company
to continue to grow and prosper —to earn a living wage.
Only so long as it does can it continue to do the extra little
things that add up to a big thing: good electric service.
