The community meeting last
Friday night at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Hawkins was well
attended and a good time was
had. The visitors were welcomed
and the talk on cooperation by
Harry Powell was interesting.
The program by the Sand Moun
tain group was good. After the
program, J. B. Butler presented
two moving pictures on fire pre
vention and soil conservation.
Friday night, October 8, Miss
Vernice Hawkins is giving a
“Tacky Party” at their home.
Everyone is asked to come dress
ed tacky and the tackiest one
gets a prize, everyone old and
young, is invited.
Robert Murdock, of Houston,
Texas, returned home Sunday
after spending several days on
the mountain with friends and
relatives. Mrs. Gordon Lee
Bridges went home with Mr.
Murdock to spend a few weeks.
