THE SUMMERVILLE NEWS
NEWS FROM HOLLYWOOD
Rumor has it that Director
Joe Pasternak offered Margaret
Truman a role in a picture but
the President’s daughter turned
it down, saying “I’m not ready
for pictures yet—and xi know
it.” Bright girl!
There’s another comedy team
in the making, we hear. Buster
Keaton and Jimmy Durante are
talking over the possibility of a
screen reteaming. The two co
mics were paired in MGM films
during the early days of talkies
and, since the public seems to be
avid for comedy, MGM might do
worse.
There’s at least one actress in
Hollywood who’s looking out for
a rainy day that’s Paulette
Goddard. Besides owning a val
uable piece of beach property,
Miss Goddard has quite a num
ber of valuable paintings, some
$200,000 in jewelry, a career
that is really just beginning and
a role in the film, “Anna Lucas
ta” that brings her $17,500 a
week, plus a percentage of the
profits.
