Tucker spent a day last week shopping in Rome. Mrs. Emma Paris, Mrs. Ruth Snow and little Miss Patsy Snow were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rob King and family Saturday night and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Hogg and Mr. and Mrs. Del Hillyard, of Akron, Ohio, visited Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Hogg Saturday. Friends of Ernest Hogg will ;be sorry to learn of his death by drowning near his home at I LaMesa, Texas, last Thursday night. Mrs. L. A. Echols and Mrs. Sam । W. Favor, or Summerville, spent [ the week-end with Mrs. J. S. Majors. Friends here of Mrs. Mary Tilley, of Rome, were glad to have her visit them last week. Miss Jeane Majors is visiting her sister, Mrs. Tom Evans, and Mr. Evans in Rome. Luke Hall is still quite ill at his home here. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Pledger and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Pled ger and children visited rela tives in Albertville, Gadsden and Guntersville Sunday. Fair Dodd and Albert Dodd, of Atlanta, visited Mrs. S. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hurley and family moved last week to their new home on Chattanooga Val ley Road. W.| Morton, of Atlan ta, is visting her daughter, Mrs Robert William King. SUBLIGNA NEWS Services were held at the Bap tist Church Sunday. The Rev. G. C. Schroeder brought the message at both morning and ; evening services. Services also will be held Sun day, June 5, at which time the Lords Supper will be observed. All members of the church should plan to attend. Plans are being made for a ! vacation Bible Study to be held at Subligna Baptist Church the first w T eek of July and probably I extend well into the second iweek. The Rev. Schroeder urges Jail parents to send their chil idren. There will be teachers for i all ages from beginners through | intermediates. Mr. and Mrs. Lee White and Mary spent Sunday and Mon i day in Cleveland attending com mencement exercises at Truitt- McConnell Junior College, at which their son, Ross, was a I member of the graduating class. Billie Scoggins is visiting his sister, Mrs. Jim Estees, and Mr. Estees in Macon for a while. WHITE REUNION A reunion of the White’s of Subligna, was held here Sun day. It is held annually on the Sunday nearest May 30th and has been for 60 years or more. There were a number of per sons absent this because of sick ness in th^ families. Those from other places who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tate, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Odum, of Cedartown; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Blalock and daughter, of Boaz, Ala.; John Ellis. GORE NEWS Thelma Dooley spent Thurs day night with Nell Peterson. Nell Peterson, of Gore, spent the night with Thelma Dooley Tuesday on Little Sand Moun tain. Miss Thelma Dooley and Nell Peterson visited Miss Rachel Cooper on Little Sand Mountain Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. T. D. Ballenger and chil dren, of Gore, JJerbert Ballenger, of Iwa, Dill Ballenger Jr., of Canton, spent a few days in Florida. Everyone enjoyed an evening at the graduation which was held at Gore High School Mon day night. Miss Boneida Peterson cele brated her 25 birthday at Gore. The Future Babies of the future, says a physician will talk at a much earlier age.
