Man Mountain Dean
To Appear Here Soon
Something unusual will be an
extra added attraction to the
Mad Cody Fleming Shows play
ing here, sponsored by the Le
gion Post 129 and V. F. W. 6688
at the fair grounds, June 20-25.
In presenting Man Mountain
Dean, the Norcross (Gwinett
County) Georgian who acts in
an official capacity and who
has just finished a two-year
course in higher learning at the
University of Georgia, Atlanta
Division, joins up with an old
wrestling rival of over 40 years
ago—Mad Cody Fleming. Dean
and his boss tangled on the
wrestling mat at Cleveland,
Ohio, in 1909 when the two
hour time limit enforced at that
time ended the match. Now Mad
Cody Fleming has engaged his
old antagonist to help him in
his many activities during the
operation of the Mad Cody
Fleming Shows.
After an interesting and vari
ed career in the sports and en
tertainment world, Dean is a
natural and fits in with his new
job under Mad Cody Fleming’s
direction. Over 40 years of wres-
Berryton Message
“Ye blind guides which strain at
a gnat and swallow a camel.”
Beloved, you may wonder of
this, but a person who will
grumble about a little thing and
do a thing worse himself, is a
selfish bing with a mote in his
eyes. Taking his dirty filthj’
hands trying to knock a speck
from a snowey white linen which
he only makes it more soiled with
his dirty hand. Men, clean up
yourselves, and then try to help
others. What of a person who
will strain at a gnat and swallow
a camel? You can grumble about
the good sister shouting in the
church, but what about you and
your wife when you start fight
ing and throwing chairs and
roaring like lions?
I heard of a minister who
made remarks of my showing
nice Bible pictures to the young
people. I saw him sitting with
a big cigar stuck in his jaw
rared back like a president, I
wonder if he has torn the pic
tures out of his Bible and mov
ed the calender movie stars out
of his living room. He has never
seen my nice Bible pictures, but
I did see his old long end suck-
eu uigai.
Others grumble at jewlery, but
what about the trimming around
the collar of their dress, some
condemn make up but why can’t
they influence their own daugh
ters to quit? If you can’t run
your own hous«, how can you
handle the public? Others con
demn watches and breast pins,
But what about that long neck
tie they wear, it hangs like a
■ horse tail almost to their belt.
I People, clean up your own back
I door and when you preach it
i will have power. Watch for your
own sins, pray for the others,
| preach the gospel, instead of
| gossiping. Do your talking to
God instead of so many people,
i Don’t use second handed gossip,
I and keep your tongue about
i what you see. Live for God,
■ yourself and others, if you see
i something wrong about your fei-
I low man and just have to talk
। about it. go straight to him and i
i talk. Don’t tell the world of it.
I God pity a coward, hyprocrite
I underminding, deceiver and be
| trayer, who will see you in a
fault and before he tells you
about it he will scatter it to the
ends of the community and
back
Yes, a man like that is send
ing you down he don’t care for
you. He is an old coward back
I stabber and a pity to call him a I
preacher or a deacon or a lay I
■ member or to even call him a I
good citizen. I think I will let
j the devil name him because I
don’t have the words to express
it. Don’t get mad. Write me and
be my friend. We are in a tent

MAN MOUNTAIN DEAN
tling, boxing, policing (as a
Miami, Fla., traffic cop), parti
cipating in 38 feature movies in
the name casts, some 250 news
reels, in many wrestling bouts
all over the world, on many na-
I tional radio hook-ups, on radio
। programs, along with some tele
vision appearances, the Man
Mountain is a veritable Jack of
all Trades and, contrary to the
old phrase, is a master of a few.
It seems every minute when
not engaged in their business of
running the Mad Cody Fleming
Shows, the veteran of two World
Wars, serving under the late
General George S. Patton, Jr.,
and Mad Cody Fleming, cut up
a lot of old touches in a nostal
gic vein and can be found by
the many Georgia admirers in
hot arguments as to the merits
of their old ideals of the Wrest
ling World. Fleming insists
Frank Gotch was the greatest
wrestler while, Ed “Strangler”
Lewis is Dean’s favorite.
