Now They Even Wash
Your Spinach For You!
Twenty-five years have sure made
a big difference in the way things
are sold. Remember when you want
ed cheese? The grocer whacked a
hunk off a big “cartwheel” on the
counter (and usually forgot to put
the cheesecloth back over it to
keep the flies off).
Today cheese comes vacuum
packed in glasses you can use after
wards. And coffee. Instead of out
of a bin now you get it roaster
fresh in a container—and don’t
even have to grind it!
Take the old-fashioned “for men
only” corner saloon. Today taverns

selling beer and ale are “open to
inspection” to everyone. That’s
because the tavern owners and
Brewers have set up a Self-Regu

“product” is always sold in the
right kind of “package.”
From where I sit, that’s an im

right up to the minute so the seller

Modern Mary
At the supper table one night
on the farm, the hired man was
telling about a breeder who was
developing a strain of sheep for
speed. “He tells me,” the hired
man said, “that he’s got lambs
now that can run 40 miles an
hour.”
“But why does he want lambs j
that can run 40 miles an
hour?” asked the bright young
girl.
“To keep up with Mary,” he
replied.
Ignorant
Little Willie, after an absence:
of two days, arrived back at
school.
“Didn’t your mother write a
note?” asked his teacher.
“Yes ma’am,- but I forgot to
bring it,” replied Willie.
“Well, young man,” went on
the teacher, “why were you
away?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t read
the note.
He Knew the Answers
A young policeman was un-
I dergoing an examination.
“Now assume,” said the ex-1
aminer, “that you were walking
along a scheduled path, and a
young woman rushed up to you
and reported that a strange
man had just embraced and
kissed her what would you do?"
“Well, sir,” said the candi
date. “I would do several
things. But first, with the
young lady’s assistance. I think
I would endeavor to reconstruct
the crime.”

Berryion Message
Mark-3-29: But he that shall
j blaspheme against the holy
ghost hath never forglvness but
is in danger of eternal damna
tion because they said he hath
an unclean spirit.
Beloved, let us rebuke no one
who confesses Jesus as their
Saviour, unless we rebuke them
with the words of the holy Bible.
We should not judge but stand
behind the Word of God and let
it do our talking, and by it will
not men be judged. May we not
deny the works of the Holy
Ghost.
Acts 5-1 — “Ananias and his
wife lied unto the holy ghost
and fell dead.” Acts 5-51—“ Ye
do also resist the Holy Ghost as
your fathers so do ye resist.”
Beloved, let not deny the
Father, neither the Word or
neither the Holy Ghost, for
these three are one. First John
5-7—“For there are three that
bear record in heaven, the Fath
er, the Word, and the Holy
Ghost, and these three are one.
Friends be careful in trying to
divide that which is united. The
word shall stand when heaven
and earth has passed—l Cor. 12-
3—“ No man can say that Jesus
is the Lord but by the Holy
Ghost.”
It seems that we are introduc
ed to Jesus as our Lord by the
Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost was
a forbidder, Acts 16-7 — “The
Holy Ghost is a Teacher." I Cor
2-13.
The baptism of the Holy Ghost
and fire was spoken of in Matt.
3-11—“ There is one body and
one spirit even as ye are called
in one hope of your calling one
Lord one faith, one baptism.”
Remember, one baptism is
real. One baptism is example or
| type so it seems which also is
; real to it’s intended influence ■
j you may be careful to rightly |
divide the Word of Truth.-Colos
' sians 2-9 “For in Him dwelleth j
I all the fullness of the God head
J bodily and ye are complete in ’
Him which is the head of all
principality and power. Eph. 2-
18—For through Him we both
