The Drunkards Grave. 1 Thesi
salonlans 5-7: “For they that
sleep sleep in the night, and they
that be drunken are drunken in
the night.”
Beloved, in the west we watch
the setting sun. It means there
cometh night and will your
work be done, oh God, in the
evening lead me to some drunk,
let me win him over before his
grave is sunk, I have seen the
tears and weeping with my cry
ing sinner friends, oh God, don’t
let me lose another before his
soul I win.
Oh Lord, the night is coming
to many fair handsome men,
who once were sweet little babies
in mothers cradle pen. Oh Lord
is she now praying that they
will be true, to turn from evil
drinking and watch the things
they do. Oh, may I join that
prayer to see some drunkard
saved, before they stagger down
ward into a drunkards grave,
and when this life is over my
race is almost run, may some
one pass my bedside, and say
my soul you won.
Fbr I saw the face of one who
away underneath the crash of
wreckage on that sad day. I
spoke to him before this time
that he might be saved, but his
way was his choice.
I believe in a drunkards
grave, Oh Lord, the night of
darkness when evening shades
do fall is when some drunkard
from this life gets his final call.
The weeping mother and all his
friends around him closely
stand, but they can’t make the
rescue with their reaching
hands.
Oh, the time to win the
Clark and daughter, Betty Faye
Hambv.
drunkard is in your daily walk.
Prove his life a show down in
your many talks. Love him with
your kindness, greet him with
your smiles, do not practice his
way, but lead him every mile.
