It appearing to the Board of Com
missioners of Roads and Revenue of said
County that the taxable value of the real
and personal property of said county, as
same appears on the digest for the year
1949. aside from the corporations which
make returns direct to the Comptroller-
General is $7.223.009 00, including home
stead exemptions, and after deducting
homestead exemptions the taxable value is
$5 277.964 90. and it further appearing to
the Board of Commissioners of Roads and
Revenue of said County that it will re-

quire, in addition to the taxes received
from said corporations the sum of $142,-
50b.03. to pay the accrued and the nec
essary expenses and the obligations of the
County for the year 1950. aside from the
tax levy for educational purposes, it is
therefore ordered that a tax levy of
twenty-seven mills of $27.00 on the One
Thousand Dollars be, and the same is
hereby levied on every species of taxable
property, both real and personal, to pay
the necessary running expenses and the
accrued expenses, and obligations of the
County to accrue *or the year 1950.
It is hereby ordered by the Board of
Commissioners of Roads and Revenue of
said county that the tax levied as afore
said be. and the same is hereby levied for
the following specified purposes:
•1) To pay the expenses of administra
tion of the county government, the sum
of $5.50 on the $1,000.00 of taxable prop
erty, estimated to produce $29,028.80.
(2) To raise a fund to build and repair
the public buildings and bridges, the sum
of $4.25 on the $1,000.00 of taxable prop
erty, estimated to produce $22,431.35.
<3t To pay the expenses of court, the
maintenance and support of prisoners and
to pay sheriffs and coroners and for liti
gation. the sum of $5.00 on the $1,009.00
of taxable property, estimated to produce
$26,389.82.
14) To build and maintain a system of
count} roads, the sum of $4.00 on the
$1,000.00 of taxable property, estimated
to produce $21,111.86.
(5i To provide a fund for the payment
of public health purposes in said County,
and for the collection and preservation of
records of vital statistics, the sum of $.25
on the $1,000.00 of taxable property, esti
mated to produce $1,319.49.
i 6» To support paupers, the sum of
SI.OO on the $1,000.00 of taxable property,
estimated to produce $5,277.96.
<7i To pay County agricultural and
home demonstration agents the sum of
$1.25 on the $1,000.00 of taxable property,
estimated to produce $6,597.46.
ißt To provide for payments of old age
assistance to aged persons in need, and
for the payment of assistance to needy
blind, and to dependent children and
other welfare benefits, the sum of $3.00
on the $1,000.00 of taxable property, esti
mated to produce $15,833.89.
(9t To provide for fire protection of
forest lands and for the further conserva
tion of natural resources, the sum of $.50
on the $1,000.00 of taxable property, esti
mated to produce $2,638.98.
1101 To provide medical or other care,
and hospitalization, for the indigent sick
of the county, the sum of $2.00 on the
$1,000.00 of taxable property, estimated
to produce $10,555.93
illi To maintain public libraries, the
sum of $.25 on the $1,000.00 of taxable
property, estimated to produce $1,319.49.
It Is further ordered by the Board of
Commissioners of Roads and Revenue of
said County, that in addition to the taxes
hereinbefore levied and assessed, a tax of
fifteen mills of $15.00 on the One Thous
and Dollars of taxable property is hereby
levied and assessed in accordance with
Article VIII. Section XII. Chapter I of the
new Constitution of the State of Georgia
adopted and ratified August 8, 1945. on
e\ery species of taxable property, both
real and personal, in said county except
within the corporate limits of the town of
Trion, for support and maintenance of

buted equitably according to the school
population, tax values, number of teach
ers. and grade of license among the public
schools of said county, outside of the in

Be it further ordered by the Board of
Commissioners of Roads and Revenue of
said county, that in addition to the taxes
hereinbefore levied and assessed, the fol
lowing taxes are hereby levied and as
sessea in accordance with Section 32-1402
of the Code of Georgia, as amended, for
educational purposes, the Chattooga Coun
ty Board of Education having recommend
ed same on all taxable property, both real
and personal, in the school districts named
below, respectively, for school purposes for
the year 1950. and all lawful commissions

Menlo School District, for bends, two
mills.
Summerville Consolidated School Dis
trict, for bonds, six mills.

issued in accordance with the amend
ment of the Constitution of the State
of Georgia, and of bonds issued establish
ing a Chattooga County Hospital as by

pose of establishing reserves to meet obli
