The LaFayette territory Delta
Kappa Gamma Society was or
ganized Saturday at Riegeldale
Tavern under the name, Alpha
Beta, since it is the 26th chapter
in Georgia.
An impressive initiation serv
ce was guided by Miss Eva
Gardner, state president. Miss
Mary Tingle, of Columbus, Mrs.
Sara Ellington and Miss Edith
Craft, of Rome.
State members who became
charter members were: Misses

Miss Dunson Honored

Miss Dorothy Dunson, who will
be married to Sameul Kelly Jor
don, October 15 at the Presby
terian Church, was honored
with a series of pre-nuptial
parites while on a visit to friends
in LaGrange.
On Wednesday, Mrs. S. P.
Rakestraw and her daughter,
Miss Elizabeth Rakestraw, en
tertained wtlh a surprise mis
cellaneous shower at their home
on Hill Street.
The LaGrange Country Club
was the scene of a beautifully
planned luncheon given for Miss
Dunson on Thursday by Mrs. J.
C. Guinn.
Mrs J. C. Van Houten compli
mented the bride-elect with a
luncheon at her home on Fri
day.
Another miscellaneous shower
was given on Saturday afternoon
when Mrs. William Martin and
Miss Frances Bell entertained at
the home of Mrs Martin for the
bride-to-be.

ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Weems
entertained with a wedding
breakfast at the Georgian hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Chevremont, will
be at home at 465 Milledge Cir
cle in Athens until January 1.
Mrs. Dorothy Dunson, bride
elect, who is being widely enter
tained, was complimented with
a dinner and shower on Wednes
day evening, Sept. 21, by Mrs
Willis James, at Riegeldale Tav
ern.
The table was centered with
a large crystal bowl of white
gladioli, stephanotis and baby
breath. The place cards were
tiny bridesmaids holding baskets
of green and white mints.
Miss Dunson was lovely wear
ing a dress of blue taffeta and
wool. Mrs. James’ dress was black
crepe embroidered with amber
sequins. The bride-elect’s moth
er, Mrs. A. G. Dunson wore black
crepe with touches of cherry red.
The guest list numbered forty.
