Berryton Message
SHAKE THE DUST OFF
YOUR FEET
St.-Mark-6-11 “And whosoever
shall not receive you nor hear
you when ye depart thence,
shake off the dust under your
feet for a testimony against
them. Verily I say unto you, it
shall be more tolerable for
Sodom and Gommarrha in the
day of judgement than for that
city.”
Beloved, remember w’hen God
qualifies men for messengers
and sends the message out, He
really means for people to hear
it ,
The message of God is right
and true. If you can’t hear the
message of God without drawing
up in your seat and taking long
breaths and twisting about and
all your smiles gone, then you
need to go to some lone, deep
hollow and not come out till you
pray your sins forgiven. A person
that can’t take the real word of
God is not qualified for a church
office of any kind. He should not
even be trusted for a jaintor.
Mercy, I pray, will overtake
such people that will not hear
the truth. Men that will get mad
and spue up with an old sour
face, and unkind words, and
won’t reason with the truth, how
could he be right?
Then what of a man or woman
who could not take the Gospel,
and they get tired at you preach
ing the truth. They don’t let you
know that you hit them with the
truth, but they sneak off and
draw out that long tongue set
on fire of hell and begin gossip
ing about you. They try to kill
your influence in order to
change for their preacher. They
want their kind, or no kind. Such
characters can stir more strife
and sin and worry and trouble
than any preacher can get set
tled. It’s a pity to call a pastor
to oversee a church and visit the
sick, and then tie his legs and
arms together and keep him
busy trying to settle foolish
troubles and beg quitters to start
again, when he needs to preach
and study God’s word.
We are heard over WLAQ each
Sunday at 2 p. m Georgia time.
