THE DEVIL S SLEEPING
POWDERS
Prov.-69-10 "How long wilt
thou sleep, oh sluggard, when
wilt thou arise out of thy sleep.”
Beloved, is Proverbs speaking
to you as one who is asleep from
the truth of God?
The devil’s sleeping powder
paralyzes men from their real
duties. Matt-13-25 —“But while
men slept, his enemy came and
sowed tares among the wheat
and went his way.”
Yes friends, while you are
paralyzed with world and earth
ly cares, what is taking place at
your neglected church and Sun
day schools? Why men sleep
until the tares are sowed, and
then arouse up for a moment
and call a pastor to his church
saying. “Preacher, now you see
the shape it’s in. We got you to
straighten it up. Let me lay down
for a little more rest I can’t do
anything about it.”
Brother, you as a laymember,
should help your shepherd watch
over the flock by night. Any
member of the church should be
on the watch for his people, to
keep them in good faith and see
that they have the best care, and
be one to another as real broth
ers in Christ. Be not sprinkled
with the devil’s sleeping powder.
Judges-16-19 “And she made
him sleep upon her knees and
she called for a man and she
caused him to shave off the
seven locks.”
Yes, Samson was the strongest
of men, but was paralyzed in
sleep on the woman’s knees,
through which he lost his power.
A good shepherd boy for God
will not let a beautiful woman
hinder him from his flock and
his power he has with God.
Matt. 25-5 “While the bride
groom tary they all slumbered
and slept. And at midnight there
was a cry made.”
Yes, there were five who were
sleeping unprepared by neglect.
They were without light.
Are you sleeping without the
knowledge of Christ’s saving
grace? Be ye also ready in the
hour when ye think not the Son
of Man cometh.
Eph. 5-14 “Awake thou that
sleepest and arise from the dead
and Christ shall give thee light.”
The good shepherd watch their
flock by night, no rest or either
sleep until the sun rises in the
sky to light their flock of sheep.
You and I should be awake for
night is now at hand for we
should light someone to Christ
to await the glory land. I will
be preaching at Chelsie Baptist
Church Sunday and Sunday
night. Remember our radio pro
gram each Sunday at 2 p. m. Ga.
