Berryion Message
THE NIGHT IS FAR SPENT
Romans 13-12 “The night is
far spent, the day is at hand. Let
us therefore cast off the works
of darkness and let us put on
the armour of light.”
Now 7 what is your choice, the
works of darkness or the armour
of light? I believe the armour Qf
light is to put on Christ. That is,
to be Christ-like, as Acts 11-26
“And the disciples were called
Christians first in Antioch.”
Disciples are followers of
Christ. If you follow Christ in
mercy, in love, in good works, in
faith, in charity, you are lifting
up the greatest light that man
, could surely ever have, for Christ
is the living way.
But what of those who have
on the works of darkness? The
work of darkness is backed by its
supporters. Theatres or show
houses are paid for by those who
attend. Whiskey dens and beer
joints are supported by those
I who drink it. Road houses of lay
out parties are supported by
those who occupy them. Here is
, the truth of the matter. It is
not to let us judge, but you will
meet the One some day that will
give justice. Anything that’s
wrong is not right.-We will meet
the deeds done in this life. Sup
pose you were facing God today,
and your record was flashed be
fore your eyes. Your investments
were in the works of darkness.
The figures show you have four
hundred dollars in whiskey and
beer, then two hundred and nine
dollars in Hollywood movies six
hundred dollars in gasoline for
layouts and gambling; one dol
lar for Red Cross, fifty cents
to church work.
Man. what are you expecting?
God knows the number of hair
even on your head. You would be
surprised if you could look on
(your record, but just think if
you will confess your sins, the
Lord is faithful and just to for
give you of them all.
At our prayer band Thursday!
