Games were played and a banquet supper was served. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Smith, of Chattanooga, were guests of her mother, Mrs. Ida Maxey, and Hill Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pettyjohn and Shirley, of Trion, spent Thursday with J. E. Pettyjohn and family. Mary Lou Richardson was out of school part of last week with , pink eyes. Louise Roper returned home Wednesday from St. Louis, Mo., , where she had been visiting her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Roper. Louise and Charleen Roper visited Subligna school Friday. Mrs. Grady Jackson and Bettie Sue were shopping in Summer ville Thursday. Mrs. Leonard Smith is suffer ing from injuries received in a fall at the barn last week. Mrs. Avis Watkins visited her mother, Mrs. Leonard Smith, Friday. Sonya Grasham has pink eyes. The Rev. and Mrs. Bennie Bow man were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Tate and Ruth Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morris and family spent Sunday with his sister, Mr. and Mrs. T. Tate and Ruth. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Tate made a business trip to LaFayette Sat urday. Mrs. Grady Jackson, Gene and Bettie Sue attended prayer serv- ' ices at the home of Vester Wil son on Dry Creek Thursday night. Mrs. Con Kinsey is ill. John Fowler returned to his home from Erlanger hospital Tuesday, where he had been a patient for the past two weeks and is much better. The working was well attended for Mr. and Mrs. Fowler and their eleven children. There was 13 tractors and several teams working all day Friday. He will not be able to do arty work for several days yet. Eugene Smith is recovering from severe burns received when his clothing caught on fire in the field some time ago. Mrs. Frank Manning, of Vil lanow, and Mrs. Maggie Smith visited Mr. and Mrs. James Smith and Jimmy Saturday. Leonard Smith visited his cousin, Mr. and Mrs. John Owens, of Summerville, Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clark and Mr and Mrs. Charlie Williams and Syble. of Ringgold, attended services at Bethlehem Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pettyjohn, of Chattanooga, and Mr. and Mrs. Rex Pettyjohn and Susan, of Rossville: Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pettyjohn and Shirley, of Trion, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Grasham, Chas. Mathis has been sick for several days, but is slowly im proving. Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Hughes, of Gore, were visiting Mr. and I Mrs. Henry Hughes Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Rosser, Mr. and Mrs. Z. M. Cooper and the Rev. Mr. Dodson called to see Mrs. Dooley Sunday afternoon. Also went to see Miss Luda Kin sey on Dry Creek, who is sick, to the regret of her friends. Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Owens were supper guests Sunday night of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. King. Miss Betty Jean King spent Sunday night with her sister, Mrs. Hugh Murdock and Mr. Murdock, at Pennville. Misses Margarette Price and Rachel Cooper were week-end guests of Miss Nell Price in Trion.
