Wesson is improving and her
griends were glad to see her
back in church Sunday and Sun
day night.
The Junior Prayer Band will
meet at 2 p. m. Saturday at the
home of Mrs. Sue Wesson. All

The Hanson Home Demonstra- 1
tion Club met last Tuesday at '
the Community Center.
During the business meeting, it
was suggested they change their :
days from the first Tuesday until 1
the first Thursday of the month. ’
The next meeting will be held
the first Thursday, instead of
the first Tuesday. ;
After the business meeting was
over, a demonstration was given ;
by Miss Omie Wiley, and her as
sistant, Miss Ann' Welborn, on 1
flower arrangement,
Delicious refreshments were
served, consisting of sandwiches, *
potato chips, cake and chocolate 1
sauce, cookies and lemonade, by 1
two ladies, Mrs. Bessie Martin 1
and Mrs. R. A. Powell.

Mr Tate is still confined to his
home, but is better. His friends
wish him a quick recovery.
The Rev. Homer Tate, of Penn
ville, was a visitor in this com
munity Sunday night and at
tended church services here. He
is a former pastor of the Dry
Valley Baptist Church.

nounced plans for the gradua
tion exercises at the school.
Dean Covington, Representa
tive of Floyd County, will be the
guest speaker at 8 p.m. Monday,
May 22, at the final graduation
exercises.
Martha Sue Gordon will give
the valedictory and Caroline 5
Geise will give the salutatory.
The Rev. Tom Collins, pastor I
of the First Baptist Church, I
Summerville, will deliver the
baccalaureate sermon at 11 a.m.
Sunday, May 21, at the Bethel
Methodist Church.
Sunday School will precede the
service at 9:45 a.m. The Rev. w.
E. Purcell will teach the Sunday
School lesson.
Ten seniors will be presented
diplomas by Mr. Smith. They
are: Mary Sue Aired, George
Dawson, Caroline Geise, Martha
Sue Gordon, Carlton Hawkins,
Bobby Hendrix, Doyle Jones,
Paul Jones, Gordon McCollum
and Wilton Smith.

Den Chief Larry Smith called
the meeting to order. Tommy
Self was out of town and the Den

The Den practiced marching
and then painted signs.
A weiner roast followed and
then the group played baseball.
The meeting was closed with
the living circle.
