BERRYTON MESSAGE
LOVE AND HATRED
Ecclesiastes 9-1: No man
knoweth either love or hatred.
In this verse we find that in
those days hatred and love seem
ed as if they had not been dis
covered.
Remember in the beginning,
Adam and Eve heard the com
mand not to eat of the tree for
bidden, yet they disobeyed and
did not keep God’s command
ment. Remember the teaching in
the New Testament if you love
me you will keep my command
ments. Did Adam and Eve at
that time know hatred and love?
All men everywhere should learn
God’s love.
It seems in these days that
people in their youth are easy
to learn hatred. But how many
have learned God’s love? The
Prodigal son left his father’s
house and departed to another
country. A famine came and he
spent his money and became in
want. He joined himself to a
citizen of that country and fed
the hogs. He found himself one
day all down and hungry. Would
have filled his stomach with the
husks that the hogs left but he
thought of his father, and his
love, how his father had plenty
and him in distress. He said, I
will arise and go unto my fa
ther. Yes, he learned about love,
and while in the hog pen he
arose.
Will you also wait till you
come to a famine to learn God’s
love, when you know this world
is filled with separation, sick
ness, and pain? Yet Jesus has
gone to prepare a place for His
people.
Why not learn God’s love,
keep His commandments and
depend on Him for a home in
Heaven? He will take care of
you. Where did loye come from?
Where does love stay? Where
will love be when this world has
passed away? God is love. His
love was before He made man,
for He created all these things
for man such as food, plants,
fish, animals, etc.
His love lives in the heart of
His church, the church of grace,
kindness, and charity, long-suf
fering. and meekness. When this
world has passed away His love
will still be burning for us. He
will have us a mansion in His
Father’s house, golden streets,
pearly gates. His love lives for
ever. If you are lost at the end
it Will be because you turned His
' away.
Our homecoming nt Chelsea
Baptist Church will be on Sun
day of the first week in July. All
are welcome. Address all mail:
