FINSTER SPEAKING
A WORK OF THE CHURCH
The great work of the Lord’s
people is shown down through
the ages of time. Remember pure
and undefiled religion before the |
Lord is to visit the widows and.
orphans and to keep yourself un- I
spotted from the world. Acts 6:1:
“And in those days, when the I
number of the disciples multi-1
plied, there arose a mummuring
of the Grecians against the
Hebrews, because their widows
were neglected in their daily
ministration."
Now what did they do? Look !
at Acts 6:3-4: “Wherefore,
brethren, look ye out among you
seven men of honest report, full
of the Holy Ghost and wisdom,
whom we may appoint over this
business. But we will give our
selves continually to prayer, and
to the ministry of the world."
Now, you can see the work of the
church. Ministers to preach the
Word, and disciples of members I
to look after the neglected. Yes,
the main work of the Lord’s peo- j
pie is to look after the sick, the
crippled, and the orphans, and i
lead them to Christ.
Remember the good Samaritan
who took up the man that was
half dead and took him to the |
inn for proper care. He payed
his bills. Also, think of the four
men who bare a sick man on a
sheet and let him down through
the roof for Jesus to heal.
Then think of numbers and

numbers of sick people that
Jesus healed. Yes, the heart of
the Lord and His people are
ready to help in time of sorrow.
Thou may have faith to move
mountains and give your body to
be burned, yet if you have not
charity it profiteth you nothing.
If you may but give one cup of
cold water in the name of the
Lord you will not loose your re
ward.
Yes, we can see that one great
work of the church is to minister
to the sick, the crippled, the
orphans, and The widows who
are widows indeed. We can see
the work of the church today,
yes, in the orphans home, the
charity hospitals, and the crip
pled children’s hospitals, and
many other great things which
people are doing. Not only the
church is doing favors for the
needy but many people who do
not even profess to be Christians
are wonderfully donating and
helping the sick and needy.
It looks like a pity for church
people to linger and let the gen
‘eral public stand out ahead
when it comes to helping and
visiting the sick, it means more
than being stupid to be a real
member of the Church of Christ.
You are invited to Chelsea
Baptist Church. Full-time work.
