HOLLAND NEWS
The Holland W. H. D. Club met
last Thursday with Mrs. Clyde
Stephenson. Ten ladies attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl White and
son, of LaFayette, and Mr. and
Mrs. Farrell White, of Rome,
were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. R.
A. White Sunday.
Mrs. Hill Clark visited Mrs.
Claude Ratliff Sunday. Late in
the evening Mr. and Mrs. J. R.
Medlock visited the Clarks.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brison were
shopping in Summerville Fri
day.
Miss Kay Millican, of Lyerly,
spent the week-end with Mr.
and Mrs. Ben Vaughn.
J. T. Ratliff, of Chattanooga,
was here Sunday. Mrs. Luke Rat
liff returned with him Monday
for a visit.

named Amos Kellett for both its
grandfathers.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hubler
and Pamela, Mr. and Mrs. Mark
Strawn, Bob Strawn and Gail,
Mrs. Harley Bandy and Jo were
dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Willard Jackson at Lyerly.
Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell White
had as guests Saturday night,
Mrs. Gordon Green and children,
Misses Helen Worsham and
Addie Belle Roark. They made
candy during the evening.
Mrs. J. P. Adderhold and
Frank, Mrs. G. S. Holland and
Mrs. Beulah Davis were in Lyerly
Monday.

Col. Hugh Kennedy, of Bir
mingham, was guest of his
brother, J. E. Kennedy, and Mrs.
Kennedy Sunday.
Misses Libbye Ansley and Hen
rietta Daniel, of Berry School,
Rome, are here for eight weeks,
“practice teaching” in Home Ec
Department. They are at home
with the G. T. Klings.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Murphy and
Miss Olene Watson spent the
week-end in Birmingham with
Mr. and Mrs. Quill Murphy.
Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Pattillo, of
Atlanta, were week-end guests of
the W. M. Jacksons.
Mrs. J. E. King and family en
joyed a turkey dinner Sunday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. James
King in Summerville, celebrat
ing Paul King’s birthday. He was
home from Atlanta for the week
end.
Miss Sara Kling, of Shorter
College, Rome, is spending the
spring holidays with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Kling.
Mrs. W. J. Hammond spent
last Tuesday with her sister,
Mrs. Ethel Clarkson, in Sum
merville, then in Rome Thurs
day.
A number enjoyed a miscel
laneous shower Friday afternoon
at Mrs. George Vaughn Jr.’s
home on Bell Street, compli
menting Miss Bettye Vaughn, a
bride elect.
Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Jennings,
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Byrd and G.
W. Agnew returned Monday
night from their Florida trip.
All enjoyed it immensely and
were luncheon guests Sunday of
Mr. and Mrs. Lester Edwards.

Atlanta, visited Mr. and Mrs.
“Tab” Dempsey and her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest White, dur
ing the week-end.
Jim Colquitt and children,
Miss Bettye and Bill, visited his
mother, Mrs. W. E. Colquitt, in
Rome Sunday afternoon.
Miss Kathryn Fricks, of Rising
Fawn, Ga., was guest of Miss
Carolyn Webster Tuesday night,
then Wednesday night the two
left for Daytona Beach, Fla. to
attend a 4-H Officers training
meeting. While there they will
visit other places of interest.
Little Ann Bell, of Gaylesville,
Ala., spent a few days last week
with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
John Webster. Mrs. Bob Bell,
Bettye Lou and Ellen spent
Wednesday with them, so Ann
returned home with them .
Mrs. Hill Laney ana children
moved into R. W. King’s new
cottage last Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Byrd, of
Texas, and the L. A. Jennings
visited Mrs. J. J. Rush and fam
ily in Rome Saturday afternoon.
