The M. M. Allens
Return To S'ville
For 78 years, M. M. Allen, Sr.
received his mail through the
Summerville Post Office. To ac
commodate one of the last re
quests of Miss Allie Bryant, a
late beloved life long resident
of Summerville, Mr. Allen sold
his family residence to her and
bought the pretty Chapman
house in Lyerly, after the death
of Mr. Chapman, and moved
there.
For the past eight years, the
Allens enjoyed living in Lyerly,
near the banks of the Chattooga
River. Since Mr. Allen’s 85th
birthday, he has been in failing
health. His relatives and friends
over the county are happy that
this pioneer family has bought
the late Tommy Echols or A. S.
Hinton property and returned
Tuesday to Summerville, their
former home.
The property has been com
pletely remodeled, adding three
new bathrooms, furnace heat,
ceiling fan and sun parlor. Mr.
and Mrs Allen and Miss Aline
will enjoy the house proper. A
very attractive and comfortable
apartment has been arranged
for Mrs. Julia A. Loop, the
youngest sister of Mr. Allen.
Summerville welcomes these
good folks back home.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thrasher
of Atlanta, were week-end guests
of their parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Olney Meadows.

A Report On Trion
District Road
Improvement
Upon entering office
in 1950, approximately
