Music Study Club
Has March Meeting
The March meeting of the
Summerville Music Study Club
was held March 16, at Riegel
dale Tavern with Mrs. Irvin
Thomas, Mrs. Bill King and Mrs.
John Bankson hostesses.
Mrs. E d Surles, president,
called the meeting to order.
The program, Contemporary
International Music, was pre
sented by Mrs. John Bankson.
The leader reviewed many of
the composers and compositions
of this group. Among the very
enjoyable compositions played
was the English composer Ed
ward Elgar's “Love's Greeting”
by Mrs. Duke Espy. Jean Sibel
ieus, outstanding Finnish com
poser, contributed many orches
tral and choral works. Miss
Frances Hill, of Summerville and
GSCW, did a modern dance in
terpretation expressing the dif
| ferent moods in a recording of
"Finlandia”, written by Sibelieus.
Mrs. Wilburn Hudson and Mrs.
Adies Holliday sang “Humer
eske”, accompanied at the piano
by Mrs. O. G. Morehead, Jr..
