My girl friend will not kiss me
goodnight. She will not kiss me,
period. I have been going with
her for sometime and I don’t
know why. She is obstinate and
self-centered. She is also very
talented and has a good job. I
spend all I make trying to give
her nice things but she doesn’t
appreciate them. I don’t know
why she goes with me but every
time I call her she is ready to
go out. What do you think about
all of this?

TEEN-AGE WORK
Dear Doctor Problem:
Our teen-age daughter is a
senior in high school. She wants
to work this summer as a recep
tionist in a local doctor’s office.
I am against it as we are finan
cially able to give her anything
she needs and I do not think she
will gain any experience in the
office which would lead to any
type of gainful future. My hus
band disagrees with me entirely
but he has said that he would
abide by your answer.

Atlanta College
Joins Mercer In
Recent Transfer
The Southern College of Phar
macy in Atlanta will become a
school of Mercer University on
July 1 as a result of final action
by the respective boards of
trustees of the two institutions.
The pharmacy school will
transfer its charter and all as
sets to the Baptist institution in
Macon effective July 1. Under
the new arrangement, the At
lanta school will parallel the
Walter F. George School of Law
as a part of the University.
Dr. Spright Dowell, acting
president of Mercer, said the
Mercer trustees “have long been
aware of the excellent service of
the Southern College of Phar
macy and are pleased that it is
to become a part of Mercer Uni
versity.”
Carlton Henderson, chairman
of the SCP Board of Trustees,
said the board has long recog
nized the advantages of affilia
tion with a larger institution.
Dr. Oliver M. Littlejohn, SCP
dean, said that “56 years ago
Southern was one of the pio
neers of private education for
pharmacists in Georgia; today,
it is the only private college of
pharmacy remaining in the
State. Its merger with Mercer
will, in effect, insure the con
tinuation of this educational
heritage.”

The Chattooga Wildlife Club
and the Dade County Wildlife
Club will hold a joint meeting on
Tuesday, June 23, at 7 p.m. at
the Trion Golf Course. Supper
will be served, consisting of bar

trimmings.

Ollie Morrow To
Be Buried Today
Ollie Morrow, of Cloudland,
died suddenly at his home early
yesterday afternoon. He was 63
years old.
Surviving are a son, James
Morrow, Cloudland; one daugh
ter, Mrs. Boyce T. Owen. Wood
bury. Tenn.; two sisters. Mrs.
Dan Eller, Menlo, Miss Virgie
Morrow, Summerville ; two
brothers, Henry Morrow, Bur
dine Morrow, Springville, Ala.
Three grandchildren and a
number of nieces and nephews
also survive.
Funeral services will be held
from the Mt. Calvary Baptist
Church, south of Cloudland, to
day at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul
Sills officiating. Burial will be
in the Megginson Cemetery.
Erwin Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
Jackson Infant
Buried Sunday
The infant son of Mr. and Mrs.
E. M. Jackson died last Sunday
and was buried in Garrett Cem
etery.
Survivors include a sister,
Mildred Ann. and a brother, C.
W. Jackson. Three half-brothers
also survive. They are Charles,
George and Robert, all of Sum
merville, Route 2. The paternal
grandmother is Mrs. C. F. Jack
son of Summerville and the
maternal grandmother is Mrs.
Della Hawkins, also of Summer
ville.
Rev. Craig officiated at the
graveside services with J. D. Hill
Funeral Home in charge.

GEORGIA, Chattooga County:
WHEREAS, in April of 1956,
RICHARD HOLLAND THOMAS
and LILA E. THOMAS did exe
cute and deliver their certain
Security Deed to MRS. M. C.
CHAMBERS, for the purpose of
securing the indebtedness there
in described, which security deed
appears of record in Deed Book
64, page 232, office of the Clerk
of the Superior Court of Chat
tooga County, Georgia, reference
to which security deed is here
made for its full terms, provi
sions and conditions; and the
debt secured by said deed has
become in default, and the afore
said grantee in said deed has ex
ercised her option thereunder to
sell said property;
Therefore, pursuant to the
provisions of said deed, and the
power of sale contained therein,
the undersigned will offer for
sale and will sell to the highest
cash bidder, on the 7th dhy of
July, 1959, between the legal
hours of sale, at public outcry
before the Courthouse door in
Summerville, Chattooga County,
Georgia, the following described
property, to-wit:
A tract of one acre, more or
less, of land lying in the South
half of Lot of Land Number 146
of the 6th District and 4th Sec
tion of said county and bounded
and described as follows:
Beginning on the south origi
nal line of said lot of land at the
southeast corner of a tract in
said lot of land now owned by
the said named grantees, and
heretofore sole to them by
grantor; thence running seventy
yards east along said south
original line of said lot of land:
thence running seventy yards
north to a corner: thence run
ning seventy yards west to the
northeast corner of said tract
heretofore sole to the said M. C. |

bers; thence running seventy
yards south to the point of be
ginning, but reserving to the
said F. A. Justice four large pine
trees on said described land,
now marked, and to be removed
from said tract by the said F. A.
Justice as soon as said grantors

one tract, situated in Lot of Land
Number 146 in the 6th District
and 4th Section of Chattooga
County, Georgia, and being
bounded and described by lines
as follows: Beginning at a point
where the original south line of
said lot of land intersects with
the East line of the used road
way of the State Highway that
passes through said lot: thence
running northwardly along the
East edge of said paved part of
said highway for 210 feet or 70
yards; thence running eastward
ly for 420 feet or 140 yards in a
straight line parallel to the
south line of said lot of land:
thence running in a straight line
southwardly for 210 feet or 70
yards to said south original line
of said lot of land; thence run
ning 420 feet or 140 yards west
wardly along said original south
line of said lot of land to the
point of beginning at the edge
of said paved used part of said
State highway; the exceptions
above mentioned being that F.
A. Justice hereby retains the
title and ownership of all mer
chantable saw pine timber not
less than ten inches in diameter,
six inches from the ground,
which now stands upon said
tract of land, but the said F. A.
Justice will remove said pine
timber as rapidly as the said M.
C. Chambers and Mrs. M. ’C.
Chambers desire the same to be
removed.
LESS AND EXCEPT: All that
tract or parcel of land lying and
being in Chattooga County,
Georgia, being a part of Land
Lot No. 146 in the 6th District
and 4th Section, more par
ticularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the
East side of U. S. Highway No.
27, which said point is 107 feet
2 inches north of the original
south line of Lot No. 146 at an
iron pipe, and running north 10 j
degrees 29 minutes East 107 feetl
1 inch to a stake; thence north |

feet to a stake; thence South 10
degrees 45 minutes West 103
feet 8 inches; thence South 89
