BEYOND REASON
Dear Doctor Problem:
My husband wants to get our
teen-age daughter placed in a
reform school. She' is going to
have a baby but will not tell us
the name of the father. My hus
band says that the reform school
will beat the truth out of her
and that she is no good at all. I
do not agree with him but I do
not know what to do. Can you
help me? —A MOTHER
You should first see your pas
tor and ask him to talk with
your husband. Then you should
I ask your pastor to talk with your
daughter. You should also place
your daughter under the care of
I a competent psychiatrist. Al
though she has made a terrible
mistake, your daughter needs
the love and understanding of
both her parents. I do not be
lieve that a reform school is the
| answer at this time and I hate to
think of the existence of any re
form school that would allow
any of its inmates to be “beaten”
as your husband suggests.
