be served, followed by singing in

Patty Wakefield, all of Biscayne
Bay. Fla., are guests of Mrs. E.
C. Wakefield and Mrs. Grace
Richards this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Seaborn Baker
and son, Bennie, and Mrs.
Baker’s mother, Mrs. Mae Baker,
of Trion, were in the Paul Pullen,
Jr., lake cottage for the week
end.
Mr. and Mrs. Chum Gray and
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Ragland,
all of Trion, were guests Sunday
of Mr. and Mrs. Sadd Dalton.
Miss Doris Aucott, of Chatta
nooga, Tenn., was guest of her
sister, Mrs. Louis Tate, and Mr.
Tate last week.
Sam Galloway, Sr., of Ft.
Myers, Fla., has returned to
Cloudland to spend some time
with his family who are here for
the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Childers,
of Atlanta, were guests Saturday
of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Key.
Mr. and Mrs. Hobert Jennings
entertained Sunday with a fam
ily dinner for members of their
family and other guests at their
lake cottage, with boating and
swimming in the afternoon.

lingham and Donald Green who
entered Business School last
Monday in LaFayette.
Mrs. Ike Cousins, from De
catur, was in their Brow' home
for the week-end.
Dr. and Mrs. Hardin, of Trion,
were guests Saturday of Mrs.
Grace Rickards and attended
the covered dish supper at the
Club-House Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Yar
brough and son, of Decatur, were
visiting the Tate families this
week-end and were Sunday din
ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Tate and boys.
Mr. and Mrs. Glover Hogg and
daughter, with guest, Kay Wyatt,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knox
Wyatt, all of Rome, were in the
Bell Acres lake cottage this
week-end.
Clifford Green was honored
with a birthday dinner Wednes
day night in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Deering, by Mr. and
Mrs. Deering, Mrs. Green, Perry
and “Bo”.
Mr. and Mrs. Gus Borgschulze
have returned from an extended
tour and vacation and are now
at home in their Brow home. We
welcome them back to Cloud
land. Their son and his family of
St. Petersburg, Fla., will be here

Mrs. Ebbie Brinson and Bob
Brison, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Allen,

Bob Shearn, of Rome.
Dr. and Mrs. Lovingood, of
Summerville, entertained guests
in their Cloudland home this
week-end.
Mrs. Helen Cannon and Mrs.
Slade, of Ft. Myers, Fla., are
guests of Mrs. Sam Galloway this
week.
Mr. and Mrs. U. H. Parrish, of
Miami, Fla., are guests of Mrs.
M. E. Phillips for several weeks.
Dr. and Mrs. Derrick, of La-
Fayette. with family and guests
were in their lake cottage for the
week-end.
Friends were sorry to hear of
Mrs. L. P. Wood’s illness last
week and so glad to report that
her condition is now much im
proved.
The Sam Cordles were in their
Cloudland cottage for the week
end. They entertained guests
Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Inez Brown and son,
Jerry, with guest, Frank Farmer,
all of Rome, were in their lake
cottage for the week-end.
Mrs. Grace Erwin spent the
week-end in Trion, guest of her
daughter, Mrs. William U. Hyden,
and Dr. Hyden.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Busbin and
Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Downey en
tertained friends from Rome and
Cloudland with a chicken barbe
cue Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Green
and Mr. and Mrs. Raj' Busby at
tended the All-Star Little League
ball game in Rome last Monday
night.

Mr. and Mrs. John Harbour, Sr.,
who have returned to their home
on the Brow after spending sev
eral weeks in the home of their
son, John Harbour, Jr., in Wil
liamsburg, Va.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Langston
and daughter, Melody, of LaFa
yette, were guests of Mrs. Lang
ston’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Shipman. last week
Other guests of the Shipman
family during the week-end were
Mrs. Shipman’s brother, Sgt
William Brown, of Atlanta, on
Saturday and Mrs. Glover Green
and son, Donald, on Sunday.
Mrs. Shipman is still receiving
medical treatment for injuries
received in an automobile acci
dent some time ago. She and
Mrs. Shipman and daughter.
Brenda, were in Chattanooga
Saturday for Mrs. Shipman’s
regular check-up.

In Surprise Alert
Army Pvt. James P. Suits, son
of Mrs. Addie J. Tapp. Route 2,
Summerville, recently partici
pated with the 101st Airborne
Division's 502 d Infantry in a
surprise alert which featured a
parachute jump at Fort Polk, La.
The 101st Airborne Division, a
major Strategic Army Corps
(STRAC) unit, regularly con
ducts training of this type to in
sure that an immediate readi
ness force is constantly main
tained for airborne deployment
to any area in the world.

riod hunting ends October 5 and
the second period runs from De
cember 2 to January 15. Bag
limits of ten daily are the same
as last year.
The season on woodcocks will
run from December 7 to January
15, with a bag limit of four daily.
Marsh hen season opens from
September 4 to November 12.
This period was chosen, Lovell
said, to coincide with the high
est tides. High tides give better
marsh hen hunting, he said.
