GEORGIA SCIENTIST—Dr. Elbert P. Tuttle, assistant professor
at Emory University School of Medicine, hooks up an artificial
kidney he is using in experiments conducted through a Georgia
Heart Association research grant. The grant, called a Chair of
Cardiovascular Research, has been renewed in the GHA s inten
sive research program to determine the exact causes of heart and
circulatory disorders. The heart association has awarded 15 re
search grants for the 1960-61 fiscal year, bringing to $862,459
the amount the GHA has provided for these purposes in 10 years.
