Gladys Anne, to Samuel Jerry Stout, of Fort Payne
and Huntsville, Ala. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Sam
uel B. Stout of Fort Payne. The wedding will be sol
emnized Sunday, September 18, at 4 p.m. at Cloudland
Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Donald Trent, pastor,
will perform the ceremony. The couple will reside in
Huntsville.

Saturday Ceremony Unites
Miss Wingate, Mr. Garnett
The wedding of Miss Nancy Lee Wingate, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Wingate of Lexington, Mo., and
Charles Milton Garnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rupert D. Gar
nett of Rome and Summerville, was performed at 6 p.m.
Saturday at the Lexington First Christian Church.
Dr. James M. Stafford was the
I officiating minister for the dou
ble ring ceremony. Before the
rites, Thomas Walker, organist
i played a program of wedding
music. Included in the selections
were “To the Evening Star”,
“Romance” and “Clair de Lune".
The altar featured arrange
ments of white gladioli and ma
jestic daisies, and there were
I floor candlelabra entwined with
’ huckleberry and adorned with
i white satin bows, which held
| burning white tapers.
The groom's best man was
< Major Roy B. Carris of Grand
! view, Mo. and the ushers were
Jack A. Tolley of Pulaski, Va.
| and Kent S. Wingate of Lexing
ton.
Miss Janell Merryfield was the
maid of honor. Her dress was of
white lace over turquoise taffeta
and was styled with a scoop
neckline and had a velvet band
at the waistline. The full skirt
had a scalloped hemline. Miss
Merryfield wore a small match
ing hat with a face veil and she
carried a colonial bouquet of
pink roses with a shower of pink
ribbon.
The bride chose a ballerina
length gown of Chantilly lace
and tissue taffeta fashioned
with a basque bodice of lace,
scalloped sabrina neckline and
bracelet length sleeves. The very
full skirt was accented by a wide
band of lace. Her veil of French
illusion fell from a Juliet cap of
lace and seed pearls and she
carried a white orchid on a
white Bible with a shower of
white satin ribbon and lilies of
the valley.
The groom's mother chose a
sheath dress of pale beige ribbon
