MOUND INVESTIGATED — Is a small round hill near
the old Pine Grove School an Indian mound? That
was the question as the State Highway Department
made plans to pave the route passing near the mound.
Johnny Fulton, owner of the site, wanted highway
workers to cut away part of the mound for filling use
if it had no particular significance. So, Resident En
gineer James Adams (right) invited Dr. Clement De-
Baillou (left) of the archaeology department at the
University of Georgia up to check into the mound. Dr.
Deßaillou said the mound is probably not an Indian
mound as local legend had it. Rather, he thinks, it
was rounded off during great ice glaciers millions of
years ago. He said the north side of what had probably
been the usual rectangular sort of hill had probably
been rounded off by the moving ice.

Galaxie styling is inspiring more admiration

This is the look that started with Thunderbird

Many cars have tric'd to copy it. No car has
succeeded. Incomparably beautiful, the 1961
Galaxie maintains its distinction—as originals
always do.
