myer Elementary School this spring

Townsend Assigned
To Fort Eustis, Vo.
Army Specialist Four Eddie S.
Townsend, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ira V. Townsend, Route 1, Trion,
recently was assigned to the U. S.
Army Transportation Training
Command at Fort Eustis, Va.
Specialist Townsend, a mem
ber of the command’s Head
quarters Company, entered the
Army in February 1959.
The 24-year-old soldier is a
1957 graduate of Trion High
School.
Before entering the Army, he
was employed by the Riegel Tex
tile Corp.

36% OF BOND GOAL
Chattooga County has pur
chased a total of $146,065 in
saving bonds this year—36 per
cent of the goal.
May sales totaled $27,620.
The 1961 goal in Chattooga is
$400,000.
