The long (§©@[L summer
NO NEED to simmer this summer. Let elec
tricity keep you cool as a spring morning.
A (tameless electric air conditioner takes
the stifling heat out of summer days. It con
trols humidity and filters out air-borne dust
and dirt.
Another appliance, the electric dehumidi
fier. quickly removes excess dampness from
every room in your house. It makes you
more comfortable and prevents moisture
from damaging fabrics and woodwork.
The cooling comfort of an electric fan lets
you sleep better, work better and relax in
refreshing, moving air.
The cost of cooling with electricity is the
most refreshing part of all. The trend in
the price per kilowatt-hour has been down
ward through the years. Now. electricity is
a bigger bargain than ever before.
Add zest to warm-weather living. Keep
cool . . . electrically!

Airstrips in All
Ga. Counties Aim
To Aid Industry
In this modern age airstrips
go hand-in-hand with growing
industrialization, in the opinion
of Jack Minter, director of the
Georgia Department of Com
merce.
And the State Commerce
Department is campaigning
hard to get an airstrip built in
every one of Georgia’s 159 coun
ties as a means of spurring new
industry, he said.
Minter said he didn’t intend to
announce this program until
later but when Kentucky Gov.
Bert Combs came to Georgia re
cently and boasted about the 13
airstrips his administration has
built he decided to disclose his
department’s plans.
The State Commerce Depart
ment is preparing an airport
directory showing that Georgia
now has a total of 128 air fields
ranging from all-weather ports
to simple landing strips, the di
rector further said.
The Chattooga Aero Club and
Chattooga County Commissioner
John Jones have completed pre
liminary arrangements for a
landing strip at the Fair
Grounds in Summerville.
and family and Mrs. Sara Jack
son, Mrs. Frances Farrow and
boys, Mrs. Doris Bullard and
Bob spent Sunday picnicking at
