Mrs. W. E. Bynum is a patient
at Chattooga Hospital and is
very ill.
Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Wolford,
Steve and Cheryl, of Falls
Church, Va., are spending this i
week with Mrs. Wolford’s par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Crouch,
and family.

Capt. and Mrs. Robert Sham- |

guests Saturday evening of their
mother, Mrs. Georgia Shamblin.
Capt. Shamblin and family will
move this week to Nashville,
Tenn., being transferred from
Inland Container plant in Rome
to I.C. plant in Nashville.
Miss Annie Ruth Edwards, of
Griffin, was guest Friday of Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Smith and Miss
Nola B. Elrod. Miss Elrod re
turned with her for an extended
visit with relatives in Griffin.
Mr. and Mrs. Fain Davis, of
Chattanooga, were week-end
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roland
Hemphill. Misses Kate and
Eunice Hemphill, of Teloga; Mr.
and Mrs. Billy Parker, Mrs. Vir
ginia Yancey and children
joined them for lunch Sunday.
Alan and David Shain, of
Lansing, Mich., are spending a
few days with their grand
mother, Mrs. Thelma T. Baker.
Mrs. Elbert Echols and Mrs.
Donald Brackett, of Rome, were
guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs.
Roger Mitchell.
Mr. and Mrs. Otis Gorman and
Anita and Mrs. Charles Farrar I
and Cary were luncheon guests

Gorman in Pisgah, Ala.
A business luncheon meeting
of the Chattooga County Home
Demonstration Council was held
at the Tavern in Trion at 12:30
p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Paul
Hosmer, president of the Coun
cil, presided. At 2:30, at the
fellowship hall of the First Bap
tist Church, Mrs. Eva Newell,
Home Economist, Brown Dis
tributing Co., Atlanta, gave food
demonstrations to the Council.
Mr. and Mrs. Judson McGin
nis and children, of Bainbridge,
were week-end guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Louelle McGinnis and Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Fowler Jr.
Mrs. Fred Elrod who had been
visiting the McGinnises in Bain
bridge, returned home.
Rev. and Mrs. Roger McDonald
have returned from Orlando,
Fla., after a week spent there.
Miss Rebecca Alexander, of
Lyerly, was week-end guest of
Miss Carol Shropshire.
Mrs. Howard Baker, Nancy
and Howard Jr. spent Monday
and Tuesday in Chattanooga
with Mrs. Fannie Carroll.
Mrs. Paul Byars and Mrs. H.
C. Vaughn visited relatives in
Rome Sunday.
Mrs. Roland Henry and Miss
Lettye Crawford were guests
Sunday of Rev. and Mrs. J. A.
Smith.
Homecoming services will be
observed at the Summerville
Church of God on Sunday, Au
gust 6. A special service is being
planned for that day. Lunch
will be spread at the noon hour.
A revival meeting will begin at
the evening worship service with
Sister Mae Terry, of Gainesville,
Ga., as the speaker. Mrs. Terry
spent her early girlhood in this
county. Everyone has a cordial
welcome.
Donald Smith, of Danialsville,
spent Wednesday and Thursday ■
in the home of Mr. and Mrs.;
Milton Housch. Mr. and Mrs.|
W. N. Underwood and Mrs. J. R.
Ponder, of LaFayette, were
guests Sunday in the Housch
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilson were
guests Sunday of Mrs. Lucille
Akin.

Paul H. Smith in Rome.
Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Scoggins'
spent Friday in Atlanta.

ing this week with her parents,

Frances and Linda are spending
this week with relatives in De
troit.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Howard,
of Chicago, are spending their
vacation with their parents and
friends here.
Sgt. and Mrs. Wilburn Pickle '
and family left Tuesday for
Macon and Albany to spend a
few days there before returning
to their home in Orlando, Fla.
They have spent two weeks here
with their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Tim Pickle, and other rela
