I school term, on Tuesday, Sep
' tember 5. The meeting will be (
held at 7:30 p.m.
Chief King will show two
I films. The first is entitled “Stay
in School and Graduate” and
: the second will deal with Navy
schools.
Chief King has served in the
Navy for more than 19 years.'
His last, previous duty station
prior to coming to recruiting was
at Guantanamo. Cuba.
He was for 30 months Com
mander of the Sixth Fleet Staff
in the Mediterranean. He served
in the Pacific Theatre during
World War IT and at Tarawa 1
through the end of the war.
He and his family have built:
a home at Route 5. Rome. His
wife is the former Marian
Cooper. They have three sons,
Neil. 10: Mark. 8: and Joel. 4.
He is a member of Lakeview
Baptist Church. His hobbies are
working with boys in Pee Wee
baseball. He is a member of
American Legion Post 5.
Chief King is in Trion on
Monday afternoon from 1 until i
2 p.m. either at the Store or Post I
Office for the purpose of re- j
cruiting. His office in Rome is
at 4 East, Second Avenue.

basic resources audit—gathering
’information on transportation
facilities, the labor supply, raw
materials, educational facilities,
etc. in Chattooga.
He is visiting the various mu
nicipalities, as well as county
areas, and expects to work in
Summerville today.
This data will be put into nar
rative form and incorporated
into a handbook which will be
turned over to the Coosa Valley
Area Planning and Develop
ment Commission. The Tech
branch and the Commission are
working closely together on the
total, long-range development of
11 Northwest Georgia counties,
including Chattooga.
