STATE OFFICE
One Chattooga Countian is
among those who have with
holding tax refund checks at the r
State Revenue Office, it has been
announced.
He is Jerry E. Smith, whose
last known address was Ist
Street, Summerville. Box 135.
The Revenue Office said
checks have been mailed to
many Georgians at the ad
dresses shown on their returns
but have been returned by the
post office undelivered. This is
what happened in Smith’s case.
Anyone knowing the where
abouts of this man should con
tact him and inform him of the
check. He should be prepared to
prove his identity when applying
for same.

Aug. 8 in Richmond, Calif, and
weighed 7 pounds and three

EVANS FUNERAL
HELD FRIDAY
Albert J. Evans. 65, of Sub- |
ligna, died Wednesday at 1:45
a.m. He was a member of the
Bethel Methodist Church and a
lifetime resident of Chattooga
County.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Georgia Evans; one son, Allen,
stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas I
with the U. S. Army; one daugh
ter, Mrs. Lamar Farrington,
Rome; two brothers, Wheeler
Evans and Wade Evans, both of |
Subligna, and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Fri- I
day at 2:00 o’clock from the Sub- I
ligna Baptist Church with the
Reverend G. W. Rosson and Rev
erend Vernon Pulliam officiat
ing with burial in the White
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Scog
gins, Delanie Scoggins, Junior
Evans, Junior Jones, Marvin
Johns and Reece Serritt.
Erwin Funeral Home was in I
charge of the arrangements.
