of wedding music.
Tile bride was given in mar
riage by her brother-in-law,
Archie Bennett, of Summerville.
The bride's street-length gown,
of hand-clipped white Chantilly
lace, pink peau de soie. and
white silk, with fitted bodice and
bouffant skirt, was fashioned by
her sister, Mrs Archie Bennett.
She wore a pale pink coronet
embroidered with pearls, and a
pink nose-length veil. She car
ried a white prayerbook, covered
with pink feathered carnations
and lily of the valley, topped
with a white orchid.
Mrs Bennett, the bride's only
attendant, was her sister s ma
tron of honor. Mrs Bennett's
gown was a sherbert pink silk
sheath, with pale pink accesso
ries. She carried a nosegay ot
pink earnations.

CLASSES IN BRIDGE
SET AT REC. CENTER
Classes of instruction in bridge
will be offered to adults begin
ning Thursday, Sept. 14, at 7:30
p.m., it has been announced by
Dick Dickens, director of the
. Summerville Recreation Center.
Mrs. Margarie Culpepper, of
Rome, will conduct the 12-week
course. Mrs. Culpepper, an 8-
year member of the ACBL, has
conducted similiar classes in
Dalton, Rome, Calhoun and sev
eral other surrounding commu
i nities.
The course is designed to give
basic fundamentals of bridge, as
well as the more advanced play.
Classes will be organized on a
i registration basis with a maxi
i mum of 28 per class.
Any person interested in learn
' ing to play bridge is urged to
i contact Mr. Dickens at the Rec
! reation Center and register early.

1 REUNION HELD
IN LINDALE SUNDAY
The Morton generations met
■ last Sunday at the American Le
gion Home in Lindale for their
annual family reunion.
A. J., Josiah and Tommie Mor
ton came to Chattooga County
from Rockingham County, N. C..
. in 1854, settled in Dirttown Val
ley and there reared their fami
lies. Some were Baptists, some
Methodists and some Presby
terians.
The meeting last Sunday was
• the 25th annual meeting of the
clan. More than 50 registered,
coming from Atlanta, Americus,
Rome, Chattanooga, Summer
’ ville, Lindale and Subligna.
At noon, a basket lunch was
spread on the tables in the spa
cious dining room.
During the business meeting,
it was decided to have the re
union next year at the old Mor
-3 ton home place near Subligna,
■ now owned by Mr. and Mrs.
Luther J. Penley, of Atlanta.
Mrs. Penley was the former Miss
