Mrs. Frank Reece and Miss
Leone Busbin were the luncheon
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Reece Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy goto
Mrs. Marion Bryant, Mr. Bryant
and family in the death of Mrs.
Bryant’s sister, Miss Ruth Gard
ner, of Chattanooga, who passed
away Thursday. Miss Gardner
had been ill for several months.
Sympathy goes out to Miss Mary
Holland, Miss Bertha Holland
and Mr. and Mrs. Housch Hol
land whose mother, Mrs. Minnie
Holland, passed away Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith, of
Atlanta, were the week-end
guests of Mrs. Bell Baker and
family.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henderson
and family, of Rome, were
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl
Jones and Margaret last Sun
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Wyatt,
Eddie and Darlyn were last
week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Fortune and family in
Rome. They all enjoyed a picnic
at Grant’s Park in Atlanta Sun
day and enjoyed sightseeing at
Allatoona Dam in the afternon.
Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel Baker
and family spent last week-end
here with Mrs. William Baker
and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Tucker and
children, of Atlanta, spent last
week-end here with Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Tucker and family and
Mrs. Belle Baker.
Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. W. N. Kimbell who recently
celebrated their 56th Wedding
Anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cook and
boys enjoyed dinner in Ar
muchee Friday night.

Mrs. Dell Johnson visited Mrs.

Miss Sue Fuller, of Chattooga
ville, spent last week-end here
with her brother, James Fuller,
Mrs. Fuller and Teddy.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Morrison
spent Sunday afternoon in Sum
merville with their daughter,
Mrs. Robert Denson.
Mrs. Sam Edmundson and
Neal. Bob Williams, of Macon,
and Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Paulk
and Ande, of Oglethorpe, spent
the week-end here with Mr. and
Mrs. Homer Williams.
Mrs. Ola B. Holland, who has
been away most of the summer,
has returned to her home here

Lindsay-Brown Reunion which
was held in Cedartown.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Colbert
visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cook ,
and family Tuesday night.
Mrs. Arthur Morrison was
hostess to a party at her home
Friday night. Soft drinks and a
dessert plate were served the
guests.
Mrs. Harbin Stephens visited
Mr. and Mrs. John Bullard
Thursday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Mack Hogg and
Brenda, of Berryton, and Morris
Hogg, of Atlanta, visited Mrs.
Ida Thomas and Bill Sunday.
H. L. Abrams Sr. recently
spent a week ’here with his par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace
Abrams, before returning to
Bloomfield College. Mr. Abrams
has just returned from India
after spending about two months
there.

Mrs. Jim Strickland is the vice

Future meetings of the PTA
will be held at 7 p.m. on the first
Tuesdays of each month at the
school lunchroom.
This year, the PTA has al
ready purchased volley ball and
badminton equipment for the
school.

Moderator
For Baptists
Officers of the Chattooga Bap
tist Assn, for the coming year
were named Thursday as the
70th annual session ended.
The Rev. T. A. Wallace, Lyerly
Baptist, was named moderator;
the Rev. Truman Woods, South
Summerville, vice moderator;
the Rev. Frank Lewis, Sand
Mountain, clerk; and George
Doster, treasurer.
The Rev. Mr. Lewis and Mr.
Doster were re-elected.
The session w’as held Wednes
day and Thursday, the first day
at Spring Creek Church and the
second at Mountain View.
The Rev. J. B. Cantrell, pastor
of the Unity Church, gave the
introductory message, and the
Rev. Woods gave the missionary
message.
Methodists of
Trion to Hear
Missionary
Miss Lillian Brannon, daugh
ter of Rev. and Mrs. T. Perry
Brannon, who is home on fur
lough from her work on the Mis
sion Field in Rhodesia, will be
guest speaker at the Wednesday
evening prayer service at Riegel
Memorial Methodist Church on
September 20. Faculty of Trion
City Schools and their families,
and members of the Board of
Education of Trion City Schools
and their families will be guests
at the Family Night Supper to be
held that night at 6:30 p.m. prior
to the prayer service.
Miss Brannon plans to show
slides of her work in Rhodesia
and tell of her work on the Mis
sion Field. The public is cordially
invited to attend this service.
