$95,000 Worth
Road Work

Nearly $95,000 worth of roat
work was let in the four mu
nicipalities of Chattooga Count;
between Jan. 1, 1960 and July 1
1961.
The Georgia Municipal Jour
nal in its current issue lists th«
amount of mileage and the cost
of work done inside the munici
palities.
The Trion bridge work—which
was financed half and half by
the state and federal govern
ments comprised $84,314 of th<
total Trion also got one mile at
a cost of $2,843.
Summerville received a mile
of improvement at a cost oi
$2,980. Lyerly received a mile at
$2,275 And Menlo received a mile
which cost $2,562.

Sand Mt. Club

omist for Georgia Power Com
pany. displayed some beautiful
lamps at the November meeting
of the Little Sand Mountain
Home Demonstration Club.
The meeting was held at the
home of Mrs. Dot Cargle.
A new member, Mrs. Elsie
Owens, of Summerville, was
greeted
The Dec. 15 meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Paul
Youngblood at noon, it was an
nounced, and a gift exchange
will be featured In addition, new
officers will be installed.
Ml A Gives Basket
For Thanksgiving
Mrs. Lissie Dillard, of Seventh
Street. Summerville, was chosen
as the lucky one to receive the
Thanksgiving basket from the
NHA girls of A. C Carter Con
solidated School Mrs. E B
Heard, home economies teacher,
and Mrs V. W Fuse, 9th grade
teacher, were in charge.
Several names were listed but
Mrs. Dillard's name was the one
chosen. Several of the students
at school bought food enough
for two baskets, totaling to sls.
Mrs Dillard has seven chil
dren whose names are Thelma.
Edith Ruth. Hoyt. James. Vir
ginia. Jackie and a two-month
old baby girl Three of the chil
dren are In school
The girls hoped to have made
Mrs. Dillard and her family's
Thanksgiving a happy one, and
they hope everyone else's was
the same.
