THE SUMMERVILLE NEWS, SUMMERVILLE, GEORGIA
According to Dickens, western
square dancing is somewhat dif
ferent from the familiar “hoe
down” type dancing. Couples are
divided into “squares” with four
couples in each. The caller then
puts the squares through the
various maneuvers with a “sing
ing call”. Usually, the singing
call is a series of patterns or de
signs which the dancers follow.
The program is also designed
for both teenagers and adults
and both age groups are urged
to keep this wholesome recrea
tioral activity in mind.
Full details for registration
will be announced at a later
date.
