Encourage
Reappraisals
Arthur Bolton, Sanders ad
ministration floor leader in the
House of Representatives, is
now endeavoring to assist Geor
gia counties in still another fi
nancial way to afford immedi
ate Tax Equalization programs.
His new (third) bill would
give the state authority to pay
interest for counties borrowing
money, from banks or other pri
vate sources, with w’hich to fi
nance their tax revaluation
studies.
Representative Bolton ex
plained this is a maneuver to
get more equalization programs
underway with less stkte money,
since enough state funds aren’t
available to make loans to all
counties.
Under terms of the bill, the
maximum loan the state will
make for tax equalization pur
poses is SIOO,OOO. It was also
specified that the state will pay
only 10 per cent of the cost of

this week.
Those interested should be
on hand at 10 a.m. Tuesday. .
Valentine
Party Set for
Junior Teens
All 7th and Bth graders of the
county are invited to a Valen
tine party, Grady McCalmon,
director of the Summerville
Recreation Center, said this
week.
It will be from 8 to 10 p.m.
Saturday at the Recreation
Center.
