Witt Promoted
At Fort Hood
William L. Witt, whose wife,
Marion, lives in Trion, recently
was promoted to specialist four
while serving with the Ist Ar
mored Division at Fort Hood,
Tex.
Specialist Witt, a scout platoon
team leader in the division’s
Headquarters Company at the
fort, entered the Army in No
vember 1961 and completed basic
training at Fort Chaffee, Ark.
The 24-year-old soldier, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Earl M. Witt,
Route 2, Lafayette, is a 1958
graduate of Trion High School
and was employed by the Riegel
Textile Company in Trion be
fore entering the Army.
