Dies; Funeral
Held Sunday
Mrs. Lula Kimbell Logan of
Trion died at her home at an
early hour Friday morning fol
lowing an illness of several
months. She was a life-long
resident of Chattooga County
and a member of the Trion
Church of Christ Her husband,
B. F. (Frank) Logan, preceded;
her in death February 15, 1955. '
Surviving are three sons. I
Hinton of Summerville. Elgin
and Charles, both of Trion: four
daughters, Mrs. Ruby Tyler and ,
Mrs. Frances Pledger, both of
Summerville, Mrs. Kathleen |
Phillips, Gore, and Miss Mary
Jo Logan, Trion: two brothers,
Newt Kimbell, Lyerly, and John
Kimbell, LaFayette: nine grand
children, three great-grandchil
dren and a number of nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Sunday at 2 o'clock at the Trion
Church of Christ, with Minister
Jack McAmis and Minister Pete
Mattis officiating, with inter
ment in West Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were: Jack
Logan, William Worsham, Jim
Hollis, Ben, Bud. Bill. Arthur.
Robert, William D. and Ernest
Kimbell. Honorary escort were
members of the Adult Ladies’
Sunday School Class of the
church.

93, Passes
S. S. Barry, age 93, a promi
nent Chattooga County farmer,
died at 1:30 Friday morning at
the residence in Menlo following
an illness of several months.
Mr. Barry was born in Chero
kee County, Ala., January 30,
1870, but had spent the greater
part of his life in Menlo.
He was married to the for
mer Miss Hattie A. Clark who
preceded him in death in 1929.
Surviving are one daughter,
Mrs. Mack Agnew, Menlo: two
sons, Claude Barry. Jim Barry,
। both of Menlo. Four grand
daughters also survive.
Funeral services were held
Saturday at 3:30 at the Chapel
of the J. D. Hill Funeral Home
with the Rev. Billy Jones offi
. ciating. Burial followed in the
I family lot of the Alpine Ceme
tery.
Active pallbearers included:

Dies at 85 in
Trion Thurs.
Mrs. Nona Millican Hender
son, age 85, 165 Marsh Avenue,
Trion, died Thursday afternoon
at 12:30 p.m. in the Trion Hos
pital following an illness of sev
eral days.
Mrs. Henderson was born in
Floyd County, March 24, 1877
the daughter of the late Addie
Bouchlion and Thomas Millican,
having resided in the Trion
community for the past 32
years.
The former Miss Nona Effie
Millican she was married to
Gaines Henderson who preceded
her in death in 1916.
Surviving are eight daughters,
Mrs. Edith Ray, Mrs. Roy Cook,
Mrs. Guy Peppers, Mrs. Hamp
Brewer, all of Lyerly; Mrs.
Arthur Ray, Route 1, Armuchee;
Mrs. Mary Haygood, Miss Ann
Henderson, Mrs. Orville Mc-
Cleod, all of Trion; two sons,
John R. Henderson, Jackson
ville, Ala.; Joe Henderson of
Rome; one sister, Mrs. Beatrice
Kerr, Cave Spring. Thirty-one
grandchildren, 55 great-grand
children and two great-great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held
Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at
the Riegel Memorial Methodist
Church, with the Rev. Frank
Prince and the Rev. L. S. Baugh
officiating. Burial followed in
the family lot of West Hill
Cemetery, Trion.
Grandsons served as pall
bearers.

WSCS of the Riegel Memorial
Methodist Church.

day at 11:45 p.m. She was pre
ceeded in death by her husband,
Marion Hardeman, March 30,
1957. She was a member of the
First Church of God of La-
Fayette.
Surviving are five sons, Roy J.
Hardeman, Summerville, Homer
H. and Claude of Chattanooga,
Clyde of Nashville, Wendel)

daughter, Mrs. Grace Mayes, Al

on his seventh birthday with a
party given by his mother, Mrs.
George Hubler.

Mrs. Blanche Baker, 72, a
resident of Route 2, Summer
ville, Pennville community, died
Thursday morning at 5:15. She
was born in Floyd County April
11, 1890, moving to Chattooga
County in 1925. She was a mem
ber of the Baptist Church. Her
husband, Everett Baker, pre
ceded her in death September
22, 1948.
Surviving are eight sons,
Roy, Clyde, Marvin, Eric and
Tommy, all of Miami, Russell
Baker of Trion, Harley and
Raymond of Chattanooga; two
daughters, Mrs. Cleveadell John
ston of Hapeville, Ga., and Mrs.
Amarylus Milton of Forest Park,
Ga.; two brothers, Jim Reyn
olds of Fort Payne and John
Reynolds of Rome; four sisters,
Miss Alma Reynolds, Mrs. Liller
McCary, Mrs. Grace Baker, all
of Summerville, Mrs. Nettie
McMurry of Pension, Ala.;
thirty-six grandchildren, twelve

Pennville Gospel Tabernacle,
with Reverend Darty Stowe,
Reverend R. L. Puckett and
Reverend A. A. Tanner offi
ciating, with burial in the Penn
ville Cemetery.
