music was presented by Mrs.
L. C. Dalton of Trion.
A background of commodore
fern flanked by candelabra
holding burning white tapers,
and single brass candleholders
was used. The mantle had an
arrangement of white gladioli.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. James Edgar Laird
of Trion. Mr. Lloyd is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Doak M. Lloyd
of Shelbyville, Tenn.
Mrs. Lloyd wore a spring blue
costume fashioned by Laird
Knox. The jacket had set-in
sleeves of below-elbow length
and was closed with double
buttons. The skirt was made
along sheath lines and the
blouse was of double chiffon.
She wore a small hat of spring
flowers and bone accessories
and carried a white orchid with
Frenched carnations in a cas
cade arrangement with rhine
stones.
The maid of honor was Miss
Nancy Davison, daughter of the
bride. Her dress was a beige
crepe sheath with which she
wore bone shoes and a beige
hat. She carried a cascade
bouquet of pink carnations.
Best man was Mr. Lloyd’s
father.
Mari-Bob Davison was the
candle lighter and Deborah
Davison kept the bride’s book.
Both are Mrs. Lloyd’s daugh
ters. The candle used had an
attached nosegay featuring a
lily of the valley.
The bridegroom's mother wore
a coffee colored suit, a beige
hat, brown accessories and a
bronze cymbidium orchid cor
sage.
Mrs. Laird chose for her
daughter’s wedding a Dior blue
suit, navy accessories and a pink
cymbidium orchid corsage.
A reception was held after the
ceremony. Assisting In serving
were Mrs. Ewart Q. Wilson and
Mrs. Marlin W. Payne of Sum
merville, Mrs. William U. Hyden
and Mrs. E. L. Gray of Trion.
The bride’s table was centered
with an epergne featuring
acasia and white pompom
chrysanthemums.
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd left
Wednesday on a wedding trip to
Great Exuma Island in the
Bahamas.
They will reside in Summer
ville temporarily.
