Chattooga Defeat 9-6
If it's possible for a team to
be kicked to death. Coach Paul
Quinn is coaching such a team
For the fourth time in six
games, the CHS Indians saw the
ball sail between the uprights to
spell defeat. On three occasions
it was the extra point that
scalped the Indians, but. Fri
days contest saw a desperation
field goal give the LaFayette
Ramblers a hard-fought 9-6 vic
tory.
A 73-yard run by Johnson and
a pass interception return looked
like a repeat of last year's 31-0
di teat handed the Indians by
the Ramblers. But penalties in
tervened to nullify both runs
and allow Chattooga to adjust
its delense Still another break
came when Ray Busby recovered
a Rambler tumble to halt a pos
sible scoring drive
Both defenses proved strong,
so neither team was able to put
together a sustained offensive
effort
The break came in the second
quarter when an exchange of
punts gave Chattooga the ball.

gave Chattooga their first, and

was w'ide, and the Indians held
onto a 6-0 lead at halftime.
The second half action was
marked by outstanding defensive
play by both teams, the Indians
trying to hold on to a 6-0 lead
and the Ramblers trying to hold
out until a scoring opportunity
arose.
