THE 6-B TRIBUNE
SPATTER PAINTING
By Carol Duke
Last week, we did some spatter
painting. We got some leaves,
screen, paint and a few tooth
brushes. We put a leaf on top
-of a piece of paper, put screen
| on top of that, and dipped our
brushes in paint and rubbed
them on the screen. It left a
pretty design of leaves. Many of
them turned out nicely.

THE MITES WIN
By Johnny Weaver
The Mites played Johnson
Thursday night. They played the
worst first half our coach has
ever seen. They scored on us in
the first half. We had a real
good talk at the half. It was late
in the third quarter and Phil
Cavin intercepted a pass and
went all the way for a touch
down. Boy. the team sure was
happy, but the extra point
failed. There were about three
minutes left in the fourth quar
ter and Andy Williams galloped
for a touchdown.

When I began to run, it ran,

I was much too scared to even

.UNIT FOR NEGROES
A nine bed intensive treatment
ward offering psychiatric care to
Negro patients has been opened
at Grady Memorial Hospital in
Atlanta.
Application for intensive
treatment at Grady is made
upon recommendation of pri
vate physicians through local
health departments. The pri
mary service area from which
applications are sent to Grady
Hospital includes Fulton, De-
Kalb, Cobb, Rockdale, Paulding

three additional counties in
northwest Georgi a including I
Chattooga, fall into a secondary |
service area, which means that
health departments in these
counties may make application |
for patients to receive intensive !
psychiatric treatment, but may ■
also apply to other hospitals |
Acceptance is based on beds |
available at Grady. Other coun
ties send their applicants to one
of the other four hospitals.
Patients are chosen based on |
the medical prediction that
they will respond to early treat
ment and intensive care of sev
eral weeks duration.
