Well, it seems as though the

Trion Defeats Model;
To Host Gordon Lee
Trion knocked over Model High 13-6 Friday night at
Shannon, scoring in the second and final stanzas, breaking
a tie in the latter.
Wallace Clark scored from the two-yard line in the
second period after returning a punt 40 yards on the previ-
ous play. The Model Blue- Devils
had halted a Bulldog drive on
i the two just a few minutes prior
to the punt and appeared to
have removed themselves from
i danger.
But Clark grabbed Flip Lati
mer’s “short* punt from his end
zone, shook loose from one
would-be tackler, got a blind
side block from a teammate and

Latimer pulled him down. The
Bulldog then plunted the final
yards. The PAT attempt fell
short.
Model tied the game 6-6 in the
final quarter when Edward Mur
dock went over from the four.
Model had gained control of the
ball and marched 71 yards in 12
plays before Murdock's action.
The extra point attempt was no
I good.
Trion then started a march
after receiving the kickoff and
traveled 70 yards. Using a
ground attack with Fullback
Randy Martin and Clark kept
busy, the Bulldogs used 15 plays
and more than eight minutes to
score. Martin went across and
the extra point was good when
Quarterback Randy Hill fired a
short pass to Halfback Larry
Stephens for the extra point.
The Blue Devils were unable
to connect on three passes and
had to surrender the ball on
downs during the 1:12 left after
Trion’s score.
Martin gained 81 yards for the
Bulldogs in 20 carries during the
game. Larry Belcher topped the
Model attack with 71 yards in
11 carries.
