the Lyerly gymnasium Thurs
day, Nov. 7, at 7:30 p.m. This
event is sponsored by the local
PTA.

Revival services are now in
progress at the Church of God on
Rome Boulevard by the Rev.
Bobby Peoples.
Special music and singing are
held each night, including vocal
numbers by the Rev. Mr. Peoples.

Association met Monday night

Christ, Clyde Ray, presented the
devotion assisted by Mrs. Darry
Pilkington. The highlight of the
evening was a musical program
presented by the Trion High
Band, directed by Darry Pilking
ton.

PARKS HORSE, PAYS METER
Glendale. Ariz. — Gayle Cate
and Bobby Wagoner, both 13,
rode into town on their horse
and solved their own parking
problem.
They rode into an empty
parking space, dismounted,
hitched dobbin to the meter and
dropped a penny in the slot.
The nearby patrolman mused
aloud to bystanders, “Wonder
where I’ll put the ticket in case
the horse overstays the time?’’

Standing committees of the
Chattooga High Parent-Teacher
Assn, have been named.
In addition, plans have been
announced for the next meeting
to be held January 9. The execu
tive committee, comprised of of
ficers and chairmen of standing
committees, will meet at 7:30
p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21.
The organization now has
some 40 members and anyone
joining between now and Jan
uary will be considered a charter
member. Dues are $1 each.

walked into a service station
run by Jimmy Carter and or
dered him to open the cash reg
ister.
Carter refused, thinking he
would out-do the bandit. In
stead the bandit picked up the
100-pound cash register ana
walked off with it.
Rugby, N. D. — The police
chief and sheriff got fed up
with the town gossips spread
ing rumors of raids on the
homes of residents and shady
doings by law officers and
posted this notice:
“This is to serve notice on
the gossip mongers that we are
fed up to the teeth with your
hot information that you so
freely pass around. From now
on, we are going to trace these
things down.”
