Miss Alene Howard and Randall Cochran recently
became one of the first couples in Chattooga history to
be married in a funeral home chapel. But this is not
unusual in many places, declares a Chattooga mor
tician.
Commented one long-wed gent:
“Getting married is sad enough without having
the ceremony in a funeral home.”

The theme was sweethearts and valentines last
Thursday night when a Future Homemaker of America
group entertained Summerville Jaycees and their wives
at dinner.
A highlight was the humorous record “What Is A
Wife?”
The FHA dedicated it to the two Jaycee bachelors
present, Jimmy Duff and Roy Mann Jr.
*****
If it’s true that the way to a man’s heart is through
his stomach, these FHA girls should have no problem.
They turn out tasty meals at the drop of a hat and
are forever entertaining some group at lunch, coffee,
tea or dinner.
Besides knowing how to cook and play the role of
hostess, they also learn about budgeting, child care,
sewing and other homemaking pursuits.

We’ve just learned that Cloudland folks have pub
lished a “Cloudland Cookbook.” Demand for the book
has far exceeded supply, says the latest newsletter
from the Cloudland Property Owners Assn.
It was also noted that a few errors had been made
in printing. Under jelly testing in a recipe, for in
stance, you should use a “spoon,” not a “string”, it was
noted.
