keep the nation on wheels
make up the largest repair
occupation in the United
States, said Culberson. More
than three-quarters of a mil
lion mechanics maintain more
than a million automobiles
and trucks on our streets and
highways. This course is cen
tered around teaching the stu
dent auto maintenance and
repair. Training in engine re
pair, wheel alignment, trans
mission, and electrical sys
tems, and tune-up is given the
student.
Increased emphasis on pre
cision machinery and tool and
die making has left a gap in
industry for highly skilled
technically trained machinist.
