Indifference
To Law Held
Crime Cause
The president-elect of the
American Bar Association
says it is up to the public to
reduce the rising crime rate.
“We have the laws now,”
Earl F. Morris of Columbus,
Ohio, said last week. “It’s
simply obedience to those
laws that seems to be the
whole problem now.”
Morris was the first
speaker at the recent an
nual convention of the Ten
nessee Bar Association in
Memphis.
“We need to develop a
better relationship between
the public and the police,”
he said. “The public should
take an Interest in police
departments and the men.
What is the salary situation?
What are the qualifications
to be a policeman?”
