Miss Sandra Gayle Mcßae
became the bride of Charles
Lee Stansell at 8 o’clock Satur
day evening, June 3, at the First
Church of the Nazarene in La-
Fayette with the Rev. Earl V.
Parrish of Decatur officiating.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Mcßae of
Rt. 2, LaFayette and the bride
groom’s parents are Mr. and
Mrs. Homer Stansell of Rt. 1,
LaFayette.
An arch of brass candelabra
with a tree candelabrum on
each side, all holding tall white
tapers, formed the background
for a large arrangement of
white gladioli, baby’s breath
and greenery. Candles marked
the family pews.
A program of wedding music
was provided by Miss Joy
Mcßae, organist and Miss Sue
Lynn Mcßae, soloist. The voca
list’s numbers were “More”
and ‘‘The Lord’s Prayer.”
The bridegroom was attended
by Larry Reed as best man and
ushers were Russell T. Miller
ni and Kenneth Mcßae.
Miss Darlene Mcßae was
maid of honor and bridesmaids
were Misses Janice and Lonna
Hurley. Little Miss Kathy Jo
Mcßae was flower girl.
The maid of honor wore a
floor-length dress of mint green
satin made with self bows inthe
back, a scooped neckline and
bell sleeves. The bridesmaids’
dresses were of light yellow
satin, fashioned like that of the
maid of honor. Their head
pieces were bows encircled with
net in colors matching their
dresses. The flower girl wore a
floor-length white dress

trimmed in mint green ribbon.
The bride entered with her
father who gave her in mar
riage. Her wedding gown was a
floor-length model of Chantilly
lace and silk organza over
slipper satin. The high bateau
neckline of the fitted lace bodice
was outlined with scalloped lace
and the long pointed sleeves
were fastened with white satin
buttons. The bouffant skirt of
silk organza featured a flat
panel in front. Her bracelet
length veil of real silk illusion
was attached to a crown of lace
and seed pearls and she carried
a white Bible covered with a
white yellow-throated orchid
and lilies of the valley.
The bride’s mother was
dressed in pink brocade, had
matching accessories and a
carnation corsage. The bride
groom’s mother’s dress was of
blue brocade and her acces
sories and carnation corsage
were in harmonizing shades.
RECEPTION
The reception hosted by the
bride’s parents was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie
York.
The oval-shapedbride’stable,
covered in white satin and
yellow net held the five-tiered
wedding cake, a beautiful crea
tion decorated in bells and
roses and topped with a bride
and groom.
Mrs. Sharon Mcßae and Mrs.
B. P. Durden served the cake
and Mrs. Mary Gayle Oliver
and Mrs. Carol Mitchell pre
sided at the punch bowl. Miss
Betty Jane Hurley kept the
bride’s book.
For the wedding trip the bride
changed into an aqua knit dress,
white hat and shoes. She wore
the corsage from her wedding
bouquet.
The newlyweds will reside
at the home of Mr. Stansell’s
parents.

The lovely home of Mrs.
Bill King was the setting for
a bridal luncheon given in
honor of Miss Marsha Low
ry, whose marriage to Ed
mund Kyser was an event of
June 10.
Co-hostesses for the occa
sion were Mrs. Joe Fuller and
Mrs. James Adams.
The house was beautifully
decorated throughout in a
pink and white motif.
Melon balls and punch
were served on the summer
porch before guests were in
vited into the dining room
and seated at individually
appointed tables.

hall of the First Methodist
Church Thursday, June 8.
The punch table was
covered with a white or
gandy cloth over pink linen
and was presided over by
Miss Jane Elder, Miss Betsy
King and Miss Cheryl Hud
son. Wedding cake squares,
ice cream, punch and nuts
were served.
Gifts were displayed on
tables across one side of the
dining hall. Tables were cov
ered with white linen cloths
and decorated with summer
flowers.

Garden Club Holds
Workshop at Trion
An all-day workshop was
the feature of the Chattooga
Garden Club at Its monthly
meeting held June 7 at the
clubhouse at the Trion golf
course.
Members of the Cherokee
Rose Garden Cub were in
vited as special guests.
Mrs. T. B. Wolf, Jr., was
the main speaker of the day.
She was accompanied by
Mrs. J. V. Hamm. Both
ladies were from Cedartown.

The bride-elect is the sis
ter of Mrs. Carl L. Griggs,
Mrs. T. W. Manis, Jr., both
of Dalton, and Robert A.
Jordan, of Chattanooga. She
is the granddaughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. Ben H.
Pope and the late Mr. and
Mrs. W. B. Jordan.
Miss Jordan was gradu
ated from LaFayette High
School on June 5 where she
was third honor graduate.

On June 1, Mr. and Mrs.
Bill Bowers and Miss Phyl
lis Easterly gave a swimming
party and buffet supper at
the Normandy Apartments.
The rehearsal dinner will
be held on June 15 at the
Chattanooga Golf and Coun
try Club with the bride
groom’s mother, Mrs. M. O.
Clark Jr. as hostess.
The workshop was very in
formal with questions and
discussion by the group.
A buffet luncheon was
served at noon. The ladies
dined at individual tables
covered with red-checkered
cloths to carry out the gay
and rustic theme of the
clubhouse.
Approximately forty - five
ladles were present for this
special occasion.
She served as president of
the Beta Club, a member of
the annual staff, and was
voted the "most intellectual
senior.”
The future bridegroom’s
brothers are Eric and Mark
Scoggins, of Route 4, Sum
merville. His grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Z. E. Hol
comb and Mr. and Mrs. Law
rence C. Scoggins, all of
Route 4, Summerville.
He is a graduate of La-
Fayette High and will be a
sophomore at Berry College
next fall.
All relatives and friends
are invited to the wedding
at East Armuchee Baptist
Church at 8 p.m. July 15.

of Summerville, became the
bride of Thomas J. Moore,
Jr., son of the Rev. and Mrs.
Thomas J. Moore, of Trion,
on June 3 at the home of the
bride’s parents on Hilltop
Drive in Summerville.
The Rev. Robert Franklin,
pastor of the Summerville
First Baptist Church, offi
ciated at the impressive
double-ring ceremony, which
was solemnized before an
altar of palms with standing
baskets of white gladioli, in
terspersed with white stock
and daisies. These were
flanked by pyramids of
burning tapers in branched
candelabra.
Mrs. O. G. Morehead, of
Summerville, played an in
terlude of music, prior to the
entrance of the wedding
party, as well as the tradi
tional wedding march.
The bride was given in
marriage by her father. She
was attired in a street
length dress of white lace
over silk peau de sole. Her
Juliet cap of white satin and
seed pearls held a shoulder
length veil of illusion. She
carried a cascade of feath
ered white carnations, cen
tered with a white orchid.
Serving the bride as ma
tron of honor was Mrs. Gary
McConnell. She wore a
street-length dress of pink
lace. Her flowers were white
carnations.
The Rev. Thomas J. Moore
served his son as best man.
Immediately following the
ceremony, the bride’s par
ents entertained with a re
ception.
Mrs. Rutherford received
the guests wearing a dress
of aqua linen with hat of
matching flowers and a cor
sage of white orchids. She
was assisted in receiving by
the groom's mother. Mrs
Moore wore a costume of
pink linen overlaid with lace
