Fort Bragg, N. C. after a

thur Powell. Mrs. Stephenson
(the former Miss Shirley
Murphy) has been in Alaska
for the past several months
where her husband has been
stationed. Their new assign
ment is Fort Bragg. Mrs.
Stephenson also has a sister
who resides there, Mrs. Har
old Morrison, and family.
Mrs. Barbara Edwards and
son and Miss Joyce Stephens,
spent Friday in Chatta
nooga.

Four Chattoogans Named
To Dean’s List at Berry
A total of 35 Berry College
students from Rome and
surrounding areas are
among the 89 named to the
Dean’s List for academic
achievement in the 1967
spring quarter, according to
John R. Timmerman, aca
demic dean.
Chattoogans included on

Born At Alpine
Former Chattoogan Dies;
Resident of Oklahoma City
A former resident of
Chattooga County, Robert
H. “Bob” Alexander, 92, 1320
NW 10, Oklahoma City,
Okla., died Thursday, June
8, at St. Anthony Hospital.
Funeral services were held
June 10 in St Luke’s Meth
odist Church with burial in
Rose Hill Cemetery.
Born in Alpine, Mr. Alex
ander had been a resident
of Oklahoma City for 47
years. He was a real estate
man and a former employee
of the state department of
public welfare.
After his retirement, he
wrote and published a gene
alogy of the Alexander fam
ily. He was a member of the
Vaught Class of St Luke’s
Methodist Church, with a
record of over 40 years per
fect attendance.
Survivors include two
daughters, Katherine Alex
ander and Mrs. Eva Beatty,
Oklahoma City; and a son,
Robert O. Alexander, Dallas,
Texas.
There are 250 islands in
the Fiji group.
